Last Monday (June 9) I went to the Diocese Office to present the permission and take another one, it was on 10:00 am., I waited for a while, then the Secretary told me to come at 12:00, when I did the manager was not there either (he is a priest), I asked the Secretary to call him, there was no answer..  We agreed that I return at 3:00 p.m., and for sure he would be there, but that never happened!!  The Secretary showed me his house, in order to come the next morning at 8:00 and wait in front of the house before he heads to work, or somewhere else!!

ذهبت يوم الإثنين الماضي 9 يونيو إلى مكتب الإيبارشية لتقديم التصريح وأخذ تصريح آخر، وكان ذلك في العاشرة صباحاً، وانتظرت فترة، بعدها قال لي السكرتير أن آتي في الثانية عشر، ووقتها أيضاً لم يكن المدير حاضراً (وهو كاهن)، فطلبت من السكرتير الاتصال به، فلم يكن هناك رد..  واتفقنا على أن آتي في الثالثة ظهراً، وهو بالتأكيد سيكون موجود.  ولم يكن!!  فأراني السكرتير منزل المدير، على أن أنتظره على أعتاب باب بيته في الثامنة صباحاً قبل أن يخرج للعمل، أو لمكان آخر!!

 

 

I did, and waited till he got out at 8:30, and he signed the permission..  To make a long story short, after a long routine, I took the second permission after three hours!!!  That was on Tuesday, at my fifth day in Gonder, I decided to use the time well, and go directly to a Monastery by the name of Saint Taklehaimanot, which is Gond Takla Himanot Monastery, before the city of Gondar..  I took a cab to Azezo (30 minutes), then to Maximient (1 hour), then to Degoma, which is a very remote village (2 hours on the road after waiting one hour and 30 minutes to load!!), in a big truck, and I sat with 50 others over the goods on the truck, the road was a dust road and unpaved, and it was a very hard situation..  There was nothing but this car that goes there twice a day..  God arranged someone from those fifty that is going to Gond Takla Himanot Monastery..  God arranged it also that that particular person can speak poor Arabic!!  I learned from him that he spent four months in Sudan, and he’s going to Gond Saint Taklehaimanot Monastery to visit a father monk that is sick, then he’ll head back to Gonder..  I thanked God for that, as I planned to get back with him after the visit to the Monastery..  After we reached Degoma, we walked for an hour in agricultural lands, then started to head down a mountain towards the valley, then he showed me the Monastery opposite to the mountain on the other mountain!  After descending the first mountain, I had to get up there!!  Then “Mezayn” told me a short while before reaching the Monastery, that there are some mentally ill people (crazy) that are being left there with their families!  Maybe to get blessing from the Monastery, or maybe just being cast away..  After we got closer to the foot of the first mountain, I saw some Ethiopians, and he told me that some of them are ones with mental illness with their families..

وقد كان، وانتظرته حتى خرج في الثامنة والنصف، وقام بالتوقيع على التصريح..  خلاصة القول، أنه بعد روتين طويل، أخذت التصريح الثاني بعد ثلاثة ساعات!!!  وكان ذلك يوم الثلاثاء، وكان ذلك هو اليوم الخامس في جوندر، وقررت أن أستفيد بالوقت، والذهاب على الفور إلى دير باسم القديس تكلا هيمانوت، وهو دير جند تكلاهيمانوت، وهو موجود قبل مدينة جوندر..  واستقليت مواصلة حتى أزازو (نصف ساعة)، ثم منها إلى ماكسيمينت (ساعة)، ثم إلى ديجوما، وهي قرية متطرفة جداً (ساعتين في الطريق بعد انتظار ساعة ونصف للتحميل!!)، بعربة نقل، جلست مع خمسون آخرين فوق البضائع الموجودة، في الطريق الترابي الغير ممهد، وقد كان الوضع صعباً جداً..  ولم يكن يوجد غير هذه العربة تذهب هناك مرتين في اليوم.  ودبَّر الله شخصاً واحداً من ضمن الخمسون سيذهب إلى دير جند تكلاهيمانوت..  ودبر الله أيضاً أن يكون هو الوحيد الذي يتحدث العربية بصورة بسيطة!!  فقد علمت منه أنه قد قضى أربعة أشهر في السودان، وهو ذاهب إلى دير جند تكلاهيمانوت لزيارة أب راهب مريض، ثم سيعود إلى جوندر..  فشكرت الله على هذا الأمر، ففكرت أن أعود معه بعد الانتهاء من زيارة الدير..  وبعد وصولنا إلى ديجوما، قمنا بالسير مدة ساعة في طريق أراضي زراعية ثم بدأنا في نزول جبل متجهين إلى وادي، ثم أراني الدير على الجبل المقابل!  فبعد نزول الجبل الأول سأصعد إلى هناك!!  ثم أخبرني "مزين" أنه قبل الدير بمسافة يوجد بعض المجانين الذين يتركونهم مع ذويهم في ذلك المكان!  ربما للتبرك من الدير، أو ربما كنوع من الإقصاء جانباً بعيداً..  وبعد اقترابنا من سفح الجبل الأول، رأيت بعضاً من الأحباش، وأخبرني أن منهم أشخاص بلوثة عقلية مع ذويهم..
